Where's The Peace?

Just about everywhere I go, people are increasingly concerned and stressed about  the world around us. Prices are going up,  jobs are less secure,  families struggle to stay together, terrorists want to kill us, assassins roam our campuses and malls while politicians spend millions of dollars compaigning for elected positions that don't really change much.

And just to make it more interesting, we have the internet and our cell phones to help us stay in touch with every bad thing that happens in the world every minute! Probably about 99% of what we read and see every day is something that we have absolutely no control over, and yet we can spend as much time as we want obsessing over every juicy detail.

In fact,  the majority of people that I meet are tired, afraid and stressed out. They are searching for someone or some thing to help them survive it all.  Are you one of these people? In the midst of the craziness of the 21st century, where can we find  real peace, rest, and hope?

The answer is 2000 years old. During his short time on this earth, Jesus of Nazareth made some incredible claims and promises that  are just as timely and helpful in modern America as they were in the small towns and countryside of Israel  2 millenia ago.

  • He promises us peace that the world can't give.
"Peace I leave with you: my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. "
  • He invites us to spiritual and emotional rest
"If you are tired from carrying heavey burdens come to me and I will give you rest.
  • He promises to free us from guilt and shame
"If the Son gives you freedom, you are free!
  • He offers us life that will not end.
"He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives  and believes in me will never die."
  • He promises to never leave us.
"I will be with you always, even until the end of the world"

The Good News is that you don't have to be stressed out, tired, filled with guilt, afraid to die and all alone. Your creator wants to give you peace and calm.
